Management of Marine Area
The main management goals in the marine area (89 km2) are the conservation of the ecological value of the marine area (Natura 2000 Protected Area Ia and Ib) as it constitutes a habitat for Loggerhead Sea Turtle Caretta caretta and the endangered (according to the IUCN for the Mediterrranean population) Mediterranean monk seal Monachus monachus, the conservation of the submarine and coastal ecosystems and the protection, reinforcement and rational management of the fishing resources.
